We’ve been involved with this mammoth project from a very early stage, having been instructed by the clients marketing team, Creative World, to build a CGI-based virtual tour of the huge scheme HPARK in Heywood, Manchester. It’s a massive 120-acre distribution and industrial park, capable of delivering 1.88 million sq ft of floor space across six prime Grade A units ranging in size from 39,000 sq ft to 688,000 sq ft, with the potential to create more than 2,400 new jobs. The first phase involved modelling the entire scheme, including the units themselves and service roads, landscaping, etc as well as the elevation treatment to the warehouses using the proposed branding and colour scheme. The second phase then moved on to more detailed CGI modelling of 2 x particular units – H-688 and H-350 which were added to the master tour, allowing you to look around inside both these units – all before a single piece of soil had been dug! The tour includes:
  • All the 360 scenes within the virtual tour are rendered from Google Earth as the proposed heights were above the legal limit we’re allowed to fly our drones (400 ft).
  • Animated hotspots within the scenes allow you to take a ‘virtual walk’ around the development.
  • Text-based annotations throughout the tour display useful information: unit sizes, eaves height, floor areas, etc.
  • 360 degree panning x 180 degree up / down view for a truly immersive virtual tour experience. VR ready for viewing in Google Cardboard & VR viewers.
  • Navigation buttons, help screen, tripod cap (called the UI, or User Interface) all designed around the client corporate identity, logo & colour sway.
  • Virtual tour published in HTML5 for viewing on all current platforms, iOS, Android, desktop, etc & mobile-responsive.
  • ‘White Label’, unbranded service available.
