Here at 360 imagery, we just love the variety of work that comes our way! In over 8 years of trading we have created virtual tours of all sorts of things from helicopters, to zoos, hospitals, museums and commercial properties – the list goes on! Just check out our portfolio page to see more of the unusual projects we have worked on. This commission was something totally new for us, and one that we certainly were not going to turn down…..!!

We met the Saga Holiday marketing team at an exhibition in 2014. Whilst they already had an old, out-of-date tour of one of their ships, the marketing team were blown away by the high-resolution quality of a 360 imagery bespoke virtual tour. We were immediately commissioned to join the Saga flag ship, the Sapphire, on a 4 day cruise up the Norwegian Fjords – it’s a hard life at times!

The commission was for a large 40 scene tour of both the public areas of the cruise ship, as well as the various grades of cabins and suites on board. We were very lucky with some beautiful blue skies which meant for some really stunning photography – take a look at the end result for yourself by either clicking here, or on the post image above. Back on dry land (and back to reality!) we built a bespoke GUI (graphic user interface) around Saga’s corporate brand guidelines, logo and colour sway. The client wanted a pull-out text-based navigation menu, with bespoke hot spot markers within each scene enabling the viewer to take a virtual walk around the ship.

The high-resolution, mobile responsive tour is published in HTML5 for cross-platform viewing on Android and hand-held Apple devices running iOS. We also host the tour for Saga on our fast servers at no extra charge.

Saga love the virtual tour – so much so we were immediately commissioned to repeat our magic and create a tour of the Sapphire’s sister ship, the Pearl II – so watch this space!
